About me
Hello, I’m Keelin Kennedy. I am an Art Therapist (IACAT-accredited) and creative practitioner based in Connemara, and Galway Mayo border. I studied Art therapy in Crawford College of Art, now MTU. My work is grounded in the belief that creativity is not just a form of expression but a vital way for people to connect, grow, and thrive.
With a background in Textile Design and over seven years facilitating inclusive arts programmes with the Brothers of Charity Services, I have extensive experience designing and delivering person-centred, projects. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and joyful, always focused on supporting people to discover their own creative voice.
Alongside my work in disability services, I run a private art therapy practice where I offer individual and group sessions to children, young people, and adults to help them navigate emotional difficulties or behavioral challenges. I am passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces where each person feels seen, respected, and empowered to express themselves through the arts.
In my role as a facilitator and therapist, I have led community exhibitions, co-developed annual performances with local artists, and secured funding for arts initiatives through Creative Ireland and GRETB. Whether it’s a collaborative performance, a felt-making workshop, or a quiet session in the studio, I strive to meet every person with kindness, curiosity, and respect.
If you would like to explore how art therapy or creative workshops could support you or your community, I would be delighted to connect with you.
